Photo Journal – Autumn 2015

This fall has been a little more hectic than we anticipated! In between all the trips to medical clinics and hospitals for Breanna’s health, we still have had a great fall, and we were able to document it (thanks in part to Jim’s dad)!

This is where you go when you want to buy LOTS of tea.

Everyone in Yangon is pretty excited about the elections. One of the rules is that parties are only allowed to campaign for the 60 days prior to the election. (Wish the US would adopt this idea!)

We took a 7-hour boat ride upriver from Sittwe to Mrauku. It was such a pleasant way to travel!

We were treated to a great stay at the Prince Guesthouse in Mrauku, a place Jim has frequented for many years. It boasts some of the best food in the country, in our opinion. All the staff gathered at the gate to wave us off as we left–it felt like we were saying goodbye to family.

Sittwe Beach–a great place to drink some coconut water and feel the breeze off the Bay of Bengal.

The spice shop at the local market: this is where we get our honey, peppercorns, baking soda and the like.

Inside the market. We love living so close to a big market! With the exception of western foods, we can get everything we need here.

Pretty excited about being a grandma.

It was so great to share our daily life with Jim’s parents. We were refreshed by their company.
